How to extend /var/log/ partion disk space in checkpoint management centre?

How to extend /var/log/ partion disk space in checkpoint management centre? VM alloted 100gb disk space, but /var/log/ have only 15 Gb.

You have to add another virtual disk, among other things.

40 GB when check in Mgmt server40 GB when check in Mgmt server

top output from management server which comes around 40 GB

where as next from open server where management server is installed which have 100 GB 

can i extend GB for Management server

 

And if i do from lvm manager do i need to go to maintenance mode... directly i tried and its not taking me ithere

into the maintenance mode

Do i need a console access for this?

Without console can't go in maintenance mode ?

You can - If that is a VM then open the vm console.

Hello Blason_R in one document its mentioned no need to go to maintenance mode to increase the size of management server

Open server already have enough disc space can i do directly with lvm_manager?

whats the best practice....

Nope - you wont be able to do that; since its a open server you will have to reboot and go into maintainace mode since partition is mounted as RW. The best way to do it through maint mode.

I believe you have opted for default parition size and majority of the chunk gone for backup and snapshot.

You can get the actual space using command lvm_manager and can adjust the same in maintenance mode
