How can we "Save As..." or clone an existing Policy?

I know it possible to Export, but not yet Import policies, but will there be a way to "Save As.." to clone or just re-name a Policy in SmartConsole GUI?

Renaming a policy:

Option 1: From the left pane, right-click the policy and select "Edit Policy..."

edit policy.pngrename.png

Option 2: From the Security Policies pane, open a new tab, and select "Manage Policies...". Edit a policy.

Option 3: From the top-left menu, select "Manage Policies...". Edit a policy.

Regarding Save As...

With the new server architecture in R80, we wanted to minimize the effect of duplicating all the policies and rules for the sake of revisions. This could make things like "where used" and "manage policies" more complex as the time goes by.

We strongly suggest that you use the following tools to review previous revisions of policies:

- Revisions view

revisions (1).png

- From a layer's toolbar, select Actions --> History and view the history of changes that were made for this layer.

Due to customer demand, Clone Policy will return in R80.10 (even though we advise to use the new tools instead).
