Hello,
today I gave the Web Smartconsole another run, and had to realize that, to be really useful, it is still lacking the hit count in policy view. Is this feature on the roadmap?
kind regards, Arne
The new column-based matching of Gateways of version R80.10 and above eliminates this need (sk98348: Best Practices - Security Gateway Performance).
@G_W_Albrecht , that's not exactly the case: rule order is less relevant (except those that prevent template forming), but if we want to keep track of rules' utilization, Hit Count is still useful.
I did cite the sentence from the referenced document sk98348: Best Practices - Security Gateway Performance, so this is only a performance related statement from CP !
Hello,
indeed is moving "hot" rules to the top only one use case for the hit count. For example, we also use it to identify rules which are not in use any more. So I would still appreciate an answer from someone with internal information.
kind regards, Arne
Hi Arne_Boettger,
We are planning to enrich the access rulebase features in WSC,
and hit count is one of these features.
Thanks,
Ofir
I honestly gave up on using web smart console. I tried so many times and it lacks basic functionality in my opinion.
