Changing CoreXL value for Virtual firewall

We have a R77.30 VSX / VSLS cluster with 4 physical nodes. One of the initial virtual system that we created is still on default of 1 core, in the CoreXL settings in the smartconsole. We need to change this value to 4.

Similar change on other virtual systems has caused a downtime of about a minute and I understand this is by design. Any trick to avoid this downtime? Is this behavior same in R80.10?

I'm afraid no, you cannot avoid downtime in order to change number of cores per VS. It's a fairly complicated re-calculation of connection tables etc. One thing you could do is temporarily allow TCP connections out of state - that would allow keeping "long" running TCP sessions. That's under Global properties
