Change Name of Gateway in Smart Console R81.10

Hi All,

We have Migrated Management from R80.40 to R81.10 with Migrate Export.

Need your help to change the Name and IP of Existing Gateway in Smart Console , do not have any VPN tunnels configured. (IP we are able to change but not able to change the Name in SC)

We want to replace the Existing Gateways with New Gateways due to Hardware refresh and then decommission the old gateways.

Others may have different ideas but the cleanest way imo is new objects with different Management IPs (atleast initially), allows for a parallel build & cutover then removal of the old.

Did the same thing, build MGMT Server with New IP and GW's as well with New IP and Hardware.

But if we Create New Objects then there are lots of Policies which needs to be replace with New GW Objects.

Just to avoid this if can if we can change the Name of existing GW's otherwise wilo proceed with creating New GW objects.

Why not define the new GWs as new GWs, replace the old ones in rules and configuration and then delete the decommissioned ?

I agree with Guenther, just do what he suggested, that feature works really well in smart console, do where used and then simply replace. I tested myself few times and did not have any problems at all.
