Maestro Third Party Transceivers compatibility
Hello CheckMates,
We are working in a new maestro deployment and customer asked us if we can use to use some Cisco QSFP-40G-SR4-S transceivers on uplink ports 40 Gbps / 100 Gbps on a pair of MHO - 140 orchestrators. Plugged one transceiver in to test but the interface status shows "No link".
Used this oneliner https://community.checkpoint.com/t5/Scripts/Show-Maestro-Transceiver-Status-One-liner/m-p/134483#M89...
from Danny, an it shows transceiver status as "Unsupported". Wanted to ask if it is possible to use third party transceivers on maestro orchestrators in some way. For example on Cisco it is possible to enable this with "service unsupported-transceiver" command, is this possible on CheckPoint/Maestro?. We have already checked sk92755, but it only talks about CheckPoint transceivers, not third parties. Also asked TAC, but the answer is that they do not have any records about this. Thanks in advance.
Regards

I had seen one customer make this work in the past. I never really asked them how, because its 100% not supported and it totally voids the warranty.

Hi all,
according with the script shared to check te status of the GBIC on the Orchestrator, I need to ask you a little bit.
We have a 3th party GBIC plugged on a port, if I run the script it says:
--------------- Port: 15 ---------------
State : Active
Speed : CX
Auto Negotiation : ON
Status Opcode : 0
Group Opcode : N/A
Recommendation : No issue was observed.
Identifier : SFP28/SFP+
Compliance : N/A
Vendor Name : CISCO
Vendor Part Number : FTLF8518P4BNL-C1
Vendor Serial Number : FNS235005J4
Transfer Distance [m] : 0
But at the end of the script it says:
Transceiver Enforcement status is 'unsupported' for the following ports: 15
How to address it? "Recommendation : No issue was observed." and "Transceiver Enforcement status is 'unsupported'"
Is this GBIC good for Maestro?
Regards
M.
