tons of vulnerability scanning on checkpoints

So we get tons of vulnerability scanning attacks on our checkpoints on a daily basis from all over the globe, is it even possible to prevent these scanning attempts?

I believe some scans can be blocked with IPS, at least partially.
If a particular IP is scanning you all the time, you can always block it in the Access Policy.
However, you might also block legitimate traffic that way.
