URL filtering query
Hey guys,
Im 100% sure this was asked before and though I have a feeling what answer might be, but I had people ask me this often recently and Im not certain best way to really answer it.
Is there any tool or site where one could see most comman site belonging to specific URL category?
For example, say if someone wanted to check most websites belonging to gambling category, how would they do that?
Best,
Andy

Remember we haven't had a URL Database of sorts for a long time, recent evolution have further reduced such a need:

Hi Andy,
Try using the AppWiki:
http://appwiki.checkpoint.com/
Open the Filters view. Selecting any Category will show the individual Apps.

Hey mate,
Yes, I know about that link and I use it often, but sadly, even though I filtered yesterday when customer asked me this, does not sadly list most sites belonging to given category. Unless Im missing something?

From memory there are limited examples in SmartConsole itself in the picker.
Will attempt to grab a screenshot later.

Right...that I know, thats from smart console categories example, but they are looking for something that would show most, if not ALL sites belonging to any given category.
I told them they can open TAC case to verify this info, though Im pretty sure what the answer will be 🙂

Can you help understand the use case, what would that be used for?

I dont know for sure Chris, sorry, but from the info I gathered, sounds like they want to have it for auditing reasons. Honestly, I doubt any fw vendor out there has this info from the research I did.

Quantum, Cloudguard & SASE leverage the same.

So since they use 6400 cluster managed by S1C cloud, it would apply?

We do not provide a list of what's in a given URL Filtering category.
You can, of course, look up individual URLs.

Thanks @PhoneBoy . I think what @Chris_Atkinson gave is perfect. I sent that to the customer and they were extremely satisfied, so as far as Im concerned, case closed, hehe 🙂
