Smart-1 205 Upgrade

Hi All,

We have a Chackpoint Smart-1 205 physical appliance running R81 used as a secondary log management server.

Can this be upgraded to R81.20 using CPUSE ?  What is the name of package I can download to upgrade ?

The last version supported on the Smart-1 205 (end of support as of 2022) is R80.40: https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/support-life-cycle-policy/
Early versions of R81 may have allowed installation on unsupported hardware.
Upgrading past this release on this hardware is not possible.

Yes you can, but it will require a new license or appliance.
The license on the Smart-1 205 is not transferrable to other hardware/software.
For VM/Open Server usage, look at NGSM licenses.

If the device is able to reach internet you can see all the software via the web gui.

Under CPUSE you can see the software you can download. You will see jumbo takes for R81.10 but also images for R81.20

Hey Jay,

You can probably follow below, works well, I used it many times, plus, it does support from R81 to R81.20.

Phoneboy is 100% correct, it actually states all that in the link he provided. So, not only is device unsupported since 2 years ago now, but cannot run past R80.40. If you are currently on R81 version on it, TAC would probably not assist you with that either.
