Shared memory and Cached memory full
Dear All,
I'm using a network monitoring tool and have integrated a checkpoint firewall to it. I'm seeing that the cashed and shared memory is 100%. I was wondering what this means from a checkpoint firewall perspective and its impact. Is there any way to free up the memory? I'd really appreciate your help with this as soon as possible.
Thank You,

Run free -m. Ignore what value is associated with "free" in the output as it does not mean what you think it means. Look at "available" which states how much memory is potentially available if needed for code execution that can be reallocated from buffering/caching, or grabbed from the free pool. If that value is low you may have a problem, but I'm guessing it won't be.
