Renaming a Gateway Node in a Cluster

Hello everyone,

While working on a lab to set up a cluster, I accidentally configured the nodes with inconsistent naming:

• FW2

• FW_1

Is it possible to rename a gateway that is already part of a cluster? If so, how can I do it?

Ok, was my browser issue, so does not show anything VSX related, but maybe better verify with TAC.

Likely you would only find sk120266 but it is not the same scenario.

Ah, got it...dont see R81.20 or R82 there, but I assume same would apply.

That‘s correct you can‘t rename any of the virtual systems. But we want to rename the underlaying VSX-cluster.

The surest process to use with VSX is to 'vsx_util remove_member', rebuild the box with the new name, then 'vsx_util add_member', repeating as needed for multiple members. It's a fair amount of effort, but it's guaranteed to work with no complications later.
