R80.30 – default version (widely recommended)

As of today, R80.30 take 200 with Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator take_19 (as described in sk153152) is the default version (widely recommended) for all deployments.

This version is available for download via CPUSE and from the R80.30 home page (sk144293).

Thanks,

Release Management group.

Very nice!

I was expecting that once R80.30 becomes recommended version it will be with kernel 3.10. I hope this will come soon too!

R80.30 comes in two flavors (gaia and 3.10) and should have one jumbo for both

to eliminate the old gaia, is potential for another version (desired but not yet committed to r80.40)

Use 3.10 for, cloud, open server and certified appliances (mainly the large ones). Use normal gaia for all the rest. Either way its just the base image on top of which you use same jumbo.

Hi Dorit,

But as I understand we won't be able to use the same JHF on both flavours yet, or SK is not yet updated:

in R80.30 3.10

Starting August 2019 this release will be supported by a Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator release for both R80.30 3.10 and standard R80.30 versions.

in R80.30 JHF19:

1st jumbo was released before so its not for both.

Next jumbo will be for both - we are still working on details

Hello @Shirleyh ,

Thanks for sharing this information.

What about VSX environments? Is the recommended version also R80.30?

Many thanks and keep up the good work.

Best regards from Portugal,

Yes obviously.

Vsx is main scenario of the maintrain and nothing can be recommended unless support all main scenarios.

Thanks

There's some discussion regarding that subject here:

When will checkpoint support the Load Sharing mode in either R80.20 and R80.30?

As it stands now, no.
There are a few fixes required on the gateway side to enable this that will be integrated into an upcoming jumbo hotfix.
