R80.20.05_992001208 firmware update cycle never ending

Hi,

I have recently purchased a 1550 and after initial configuration initiated the firmware upgrade...it selected "1500_R80.20.05_992001208" but has not been "upgrading" to this version for weeks(ever)!

Is there an issue with this version?

If i select manual upgrade the link takes me to the 600/1100 appliance pages but whatever i try i am not "entitled" to download and firmware version.

I cannot see how to cancel this cycle of doom!

Your help and support is appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

Purchased from Check Point, I presume?

Then you should see the product and associated contracts in your UserCenter account. Check if your software subscription is still valid. If it is, and you still cannot download the firmware image, please open a support call to fix this.

However, if the device subscription lapsed, the automatic update will not work.

Also, it seems, the latest firmware isR80.20.10 Build 992001491. Check https://supportcenter.us.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&so... for more details

Hi Val,

Many thanks...yes bought new from checkpointdirect.co.uk...i am a personal user and as a result bought the appliance but not any additional blades as the pricing is prohibitive...this means that i am licensed for: Firewall/Identity Awareness/Advanced Networking/IPSec VPN.

Does this mean i am not able to update the firmware?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Check with them, you should be eligible for software update.

As an end customer i would assume that you could ask your dealer for help and even return the product - as you seem not to have CP support entitling you to firmware download...

Having just received a couple of 1590s myself this week, the firmware I was offered was what @_Val_ mentioned in his post.

Also, it sounds like you just bought the appliance, which I don’t believe includes support.
The NGTP/NGTX package for the SMB appliances includes support, which entitles you access to software downloads.

All that said, I don’t believe the firmware offered via the on-device update menu is tied to a support contract (but could be wrong).
You might try making a backup of your configuration and factory resetting the device to see if it offers you the newer firmware.
