Quantum Spark 1800 Load Balancing Option not Showing Up

Hi,

We are trying to configure load-balancing between two ISPs on a Quantum Spark 1800, 1 ISP is connected on the WAN port and 1 ISP is connected to an unassigned LAN port.

viber_image_2024-05-30_16-35-22-026.png
When clicking "Configure.." beside High Availability mode, no option to switch from High Availability mode to Load Balancing mode appears, it only displays this:

viber_image_2024-05-30_16-36-50-773.png

We also tried to connect the second ISP to the other WAN Port, however, the connection won't go up and it says probing has failed, the connection only goes up when we connect it to an unassigned LAN port.

Any idea what might be causing this issue?

Model of appliance: 1800

Firmware Version: R81.10.10

Management: Locally Managed

Thanks.

To apply these setting in R81.10.10 and higher, you must disable the SD-WAN Software Blade:

Go to the Access Policy view > Firewall section > SD-WAN page > at the top, move the slider SD-WAN blade is enabled to the left position).

Per: https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/SMB_R81.10.X/AdminGuides_Centrally_Managed/EN/Content/Topics/Co...

Hi,

We've tried this suggestion previously but it still only shows probing settings and not the option to choose between HA and load-balancing mode.

Also, our appliance is only locally managed, I think the document you sent is for a centrally managed one.

Do you have other suggestions?

Thanks.

I'd check with TAC here: https://help.checkpoint.com

Hi,

Did you find any solution for this? I'm facing the same issue.

I can't change to load balancing.

Thanks

Have you tried the relevant CLI commands per:

This is not the same type of load-balancing being discussed here.

Just the link level type is that is possible with multiple links as different to between cluster members.

Hi,

Can you please describe the scenario?

Have you considered using the SDWAN for load balancing?

Thanks,

Hi Dafna,

I'm having the same behavior as the first post on this thread "no option to switch from High Availability mode to Load Balancing mode appears, it only displays the probing settings"

Option displayed after clicking "Configure"Option displayed after clicking "Configure"

I was able to do the change on the CLI, but even when doing this I could not see any changes on the Web UI.

I just, confirmed with a friend who also uses a Quantum Spark Appliance, he is showing the same behavior when trying to change con High Availability to Load Balancing.

Investigate the "Manage Steering Objects" option further in the SD-WAN policy page.

Access Policy > Firewall > SD-WAN > Policy > Manage Steering Objects

Choose or create and object and look at the "Link Utilization" choices / options there.

Hi,

Did you try to use the link aggregation option in SDWAN.

Thanks,
