Monitord process consume high cpu, does it safe to terminate the process during production hour?

Hi Folks,

I had experienced monitord consume 100% CPU usage in vsx firewall environment. My vsx firewall version is R81.10 with JHF take 81, and this vsx firewall is handling critical traffic which hard to get maintenance windows to install latest JHF.

I wish to apply temp fix as mentioned https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk93587 , by teminate monitord process and clear /var/log/db, does it safe to do during production hours? As I know, monitord is not part of traffic handling process, want to get confirmation if someone has done it in non-maintenance windows.

Thanks

The internal notes in the SK suggest this can be done safely in production.

It is safe. I actually had TAC tell me the same few months back when we had to apply that sk for a customer.
