Many Precess of "sleep 10" and "/bin/bash /etc/init.d/hcp_ext start"

I am using CheckPoint 3100 in an Active-Standby configuration.

Memory usage is increasing day by day, so I applied the latest version of Hoffix, but memory usage still continues to increase.

Currently, Active is 64% and Standby is 70%.

Software Version:
Product version Check Point Gaia R80.20
OS build 101
OS kernel version 2.6.18-92cpx86_64
OS edition 64-bit
Take230 applied

To find the cause, I checked the running processes with the command # ps aux.

admin 28607 0.0 0.0 1564 412 ? S 16:50 0:00 sleep 10
admin 7166 0.0 0.0 2492 796 ? S 15:45 0:00 /bin/bash /etc/init.d/hcp_ext start

These two processes have the same process name, and the number of processes seems to be increasing little by little every day.

Is it a problem that the above processes are increasing?

If I leave it as it is, will the memory increase stop at some point?

Please help me with memory management.

R80.20 is End of Life (since 2022) and you should consider upgrading to a supported release.

These old units only came with 8GB RAM so it can be a challenge if the environment experiences large growth or software defects.

- What software blades are enabled on this security gateway?

- How many connections / traffic does the gateway encounter?
