Insights feature in R82.10 smart console

I found this feature really cool. I dont have actual R82.10 lab ready yet, but downloaded R82.10 smart console, launched demo and was looking around and this feature, in my opinion, is very helpful.

Policy Insights is a paid feature, I think, but it makes sense that we're showing it off in Demo mode.

Good to know, was not aware of that.

I remember that Policy Insights started in R81.20:

Policy Insights – Onboarding and Troubleshooting

But right now, in R82 or R82.10, looks better, I just saw on elearning videos

Ah, you are correct. I probably dont recall much about that sk, since smart console did not have the option for policy insight, which is now there in R82.10

Either way, super helpful feature, in my opinion.

Yeah, I found it really helpful too. A few days ago, I tested AI Copilot in SmartConsole R82, and it’s really nice. These kinds of improvements actually make a difference in the day-to-day life of SmartConsole admins.

I think that if admins start using this as a good practice, it can really help improve the rule base, making it cleaner, more responsible, and better structured.

I remember working on a project with around 800 rules, and by the end of it (about 8 months later), we had reduced it to 450 rules. To do that, I used the SmartOptimize report collected by PS CKP. If Policy Insights had existed back then, I would’ve finished that project much faster 😄

You know, it also reminds me of conversations I had with few clients about different vendors, features, price, etc...at the end of the day, okay, maybe Fortinet is cheaper, but lets be honest, who wants to deal with constant vulnerabilities all the time? Like they say, you get what you pay for.

People see all the amazing features and security you get with Check Point, its spectacular, so even if you pay more money, its so worth it.

Andy

Exactly — stability and reliability are the best things. And Check Point has been doing a great job keeping up with the market while also leading it with innovation.

100% agree. Clients I work with that switched from other vendors are super HAPPY with CP firewalls. Very stable, reliable, and they really appreciate how easy it is to navigate Smart-1 cloud, which we always recommend to people these days for management solution.
