Email Alerts not reaching destination mailboxes

Hi,

I would like to have email alerts from checkpoint firewall reach my inbox. At the moment, the email script is configured on the appliance to send emails to our exchange relay on the lan. 

are there additional ports i need to open up on our internal firewall?

Edge-Checkpoint-Appliance--------->Internal-Firewall---------->LAN------->Exchange server relay-------user-inbox.

appreciate your advice.
