Does Anti Spam and Email security blade work on Office 365 or internet located email server clients

Hi

 

Does 'Anti Spam and Email Security' blade work if Email server is located on LAN.?

If customer's email server locates on internet, such Office 365, That blade doesn't work.?

The email traffic from the source SMTP server has to pass thru the security gateway towards the target SMTP server for the for the blade to work.
