730 appliance and Huawei E3372h-153 USB modem

Hi guys...

Does anyone have experience setting up a 730 appliance (R77.20.85) with a USB modem from Huawei?

I have one running right now but cannot get past "Acquiring network address".

I have setup the interface as USB/serial with *99# as dialup number and the correct APN from my ISP. It works fine if I test it on a computer but not when connected to the appliance. The modem is on the approved list from CP and I wonder if it could be an issue with either COM speed or dialup commands. Haven't found any documentation in that from Huawei.
