Hi All,
I have a 7000 appliance ( out of box) device.
Currently attempting to boot the item from the USB drive using a IODD mini having the Iso installed on it.
When the appliance is switched on it does not see the bootable device. ( the same IODD was used may weeks ago for a 23500 install0
Can someone please advise as to what the correct process and the format of the USB IODD format should be?
I'm currently finding may different documents with different information,
Regards,
JED
Is there any message that comes up on lcd display?
Andy
Hi Andy,
The LCD does not show any messages : the file is selected from the selection and the confirmation from the keys. The 7000 is turned on, the led flashes on the IODD and then it goes through 7 steps ( if I recall) and then ends up with the following message : "in order to configure your system, please access web UI ".
Thanks,
JED
Did you try unplug the power for about 30 seconds, plug back in and see if it makes any difference? If no joy, its possible maybe faulty image...
Andy
That seems to give log in prompt, just says no valid license, which is expected...when you console into it, do you not see log in prompt?
Hi Andy, we have tried that multiple times.
So if you get log in prompt, does admin/admin not work?
Andy
There are two USB ports. Have you tried the other one? Maybe the system only brings one up.
IODD's drive enclosures have fairly complicated software. Maybe the drive hasn't booted fully before the server checks for it? If so, a split USB cable with power drawn from another device or from a battery may help.
Installing over LOM could also be an option.
I tried using a Zalman USB HDD enclosure previously but it was by far more frustrating than just having the isomorphic pre-built USB 2.0 keys in the end. Hope you have better luck.
