Through put increase with R82

Hi,

When the R82 was introduced, datasheets of 9000 series and above were updated with the enhanced threat prevention through put. Ex: 9200 TP throughput was increased from 6.6 to 8 Gbps.

is this increase due to the only OS enhancement or does it have a dependency on the hardware too.

If it is due to OS enhancement, will there be a throughput increase of 6000 series as well??

I would say thats totally normal, but maybe someone else can confirm.

Best,

It's a software enhancement that should apply to all hardware types.
The exact performance gain will vary depending on a number of factors.

The increased throughputs have not been reflected in 6000 series datasheets. Is there any documentation that stated the increased values of 6000 series devices with R82

It's unlikely that the datasheet will be updated for devices approaching End-of-Sale.

As I recall the performance improvement was also mentioned in the JHF notes at the time. Will find the reference and share it here shortly.

I know that the performance specifications for the Quantum Force line assume UPPAK is enabled, so reverting to KPPAK mode may result in performance below the published specs.  I imagine that same assumption got made for the 6000 series when the numbers were updated for R82, which may explain the increase.
