SIC Error

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for your suggestions.

I would like to inform you that we have successfully implemented the Check Point VSX firewall with a standalone (single) management server. We are now in the process of migrating to a Multi-Domain environment and implementing an MDS server.

As part of this setup, we have:

  • Installed and configured the MDS server

  • Created a domain (CMA)

  • Planned to configure a VSX cluster and create multiple Virtual Systems (VS) for different sites/customers

However, while creating the VSX cluster, we are encountering an issue related to SIC.

We have attempted multiple times to:

  • Reset SIC on both gateways

  • Reinitialize SIC using the activation key

  • Add the gateways again in SmartConsole

Despite these efforts, we continue to receive the same SIC-related error during the VSX cluster creation process.

Additionally, when we verify the SIC status directly on both gateways, it shows “Trust established”, which makes the issue unclear.

To clarify, we are working within the MDS environment, have created a CMA, and are attempting to add both gateways as a cluster within that domain. However, the SIC error persists during this process.

I have attached the error screenshot for your reference.

I kindly request your support in identifying and resolving this issue.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi,

Which version are you running? If R82 or R82.10, please follow:

sk184766 - Certificate and CRL validation fails from March 1, 2026

Install the fix for your version and that should solve the SIC issues when creating a VSX Cluster.

Martijn

Hi,

So you need to install the Time Fix hotfix and you can create a VSX cluster without SIC failure messages.

Keep in mind. The systems need a reboot.

Let us know how it went.

What indeed Martijn posted, you need the CRL patch on mgmt and gateways.

Hello Martijn,

Thank you for your reply.

it was beneficial for me so we had downgrade version from R82  to R81.20 and then successfully create a Cluster between both gateways with the MDM server.

now its working perfectly.

so, again Thank you so much.

Thanks, and Regards
