R82 – Filters Pane Missing in SmartConsole

Hi,

I’m running the following environment:

• SMS: R82 JHF 73

• Gateway: R82 JHF 73

• SmartConsole: R82 Build 1062

• Permissions: Super User

• VMware lab setup

In Logs & Events → Logs, the filters pane button is completely missing and the filters pane showing top section (top sources, top destinations, etc) does not appear at all. Logs themselves are visible and working.

I have already followed all steps in sk121860, including deleting local SmartConsole folders, reinstalling SmartConsole, and verifying permissions. Issue persists.

Has anyone seen this issue or have any idea what causes it?

I have another R82 lab, let me check it there, but the main one I use, no issues with that one.

I could never remember if that option is enabled by default, but guess not : - )

It's supposed to be enabled by default according to the R82 Logging and Monitoring Administration Guide. In my case it wasn't 🤔

Never paid attention to it on brand new mgmt server, but let me create one later in eve-ng and will let you know. Gibe me 1-2 hours.

K, not sure why it was not enabled for you, but I set up brand new lab mgmt, updated to jumbo 73 and after reboot, logged into smart console, shows enabled.
