In this post, we’ll look at how to migrate a trunk in a VSX cluster environment. This is not done the same way as in a traditional cluster. Basically, the change must be executed from the management, where we have two methods: a quick one, and another that follows a more structured process since it does not push changes immediately to the gateways.
Depending on your need, whether the change is urgent or you prefer to prepare part of the configuration during the day and then install policies during a low-impact window, you can choose the approach that works best.
In the end, the result is what you see in the video: moving a trunk, which could be tied to a critical service like the internet, to another one for any reason, such as a higher-capacity SKU, a module failure, or other factors.
