I got SMS and gateways all running 81.20 Take: 113
On SMS which is installed on a VM, scheduled FTP backup acts weird
so no file is getting uploaded to the server i do not know why, as you can see there is no STOR messages
Gaia never attempted a file upload.
It only listed the directory and then quit.
No STOR command = no upload.
Works fine on gateways!
so any ideas,

Might require a TAC case to investigate.

Good point Akos.
That might be the cause. I’m upgrading next week, and I’ll post an update here once it’s done.
Let us know how it goes.
Are there contents in the root directory the user gets?
Are you telling the SmartCenter to write its backups to a particular path? If so, does the path exist?
Is there a chance the name of the new backup overlaps with the name of an existing file?
The path is /. It exists and is already being used by the gateways, which are successfully backing up to it.
I found the notes from few years ago when I was helping a client with same issue and they also had problem with backup to / dir, but once they changed it to a different one, worked fine. Definitely worth testing.
