We are about to migrate our on-prem Exchange environment into Exchange Online, and were wondering if there is an Updateable Object that contains all the hosts, and networks, that encompass this. I can't find anything that matches on an R81.20 management server.
Hi Howard,
Sorry, did not mean that, but below:
In SmartConsole → Objects → Updatable Objects, you should see objects related to Microsoft services such as:
Microsoft Office 365
Microsoft Exchange Online
Microsoft SharePoint Online
Microsoft Teams
I think they are Application objects though, rather than collections of IP addresses or networks. I was looking for somethig I can use in the Network policy, so that only Exchange Online servers can access our Edge Transports.
Sorry, I can see you did put Updateable Objects. I'm sure they weren't there but I will double check now....definitely not seeing any of those:
We don't have the latest Take for R81.20 so if these were added later that would explain why I cannot see those you have listed.
You can use the updatable object in your network policy but there isn't a specific object for exchange servers, the available objects include all the Microsoft services
In alternative, refer to this https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/enterprise/urls-and-ip-address-ranges?view=o365-worl...
I had to follow that link once to allow Ip ranges for MS teams bypass.
You see below at all?
No, and I suspect you might have a newer version. When I look in the Object Explorer pop-out Window, there are no sub-folders beneath Updateable Objects. It's a flat structure with 120 objects.
I don't have sub-sections for Office365, AWS etc., although you can see in the image above that AWS is there, in that flat list of 120.
Which version of SmartConsole & Management server are you running there?
Hi Howard,
Sorry, did not mean that, but below:
Ah! I was running in Read-Only mode, and had no way of getting to that page. 🙂
I always make sure I'm running RO if I am just poking around as there is no chance of making accidental changes that way.
Though it does look like there are some slight differences between our two lists.
That makes sense, since mine was from R82.10 version.
We'll give the two "Exchange Online Worldwide Optional & Required Services" a go, and see if that works for us.
Thank you all!
Sounds good, Howard! Hope that fixes it, let us know.
Assuming you are running a version that supports Updatable Objects (R80.20 and above) all objects should apply to all versions.
However, I suspect because @Howard_Gyton was in Read Only mode, the list didn't get updated and a cached (older) list was shown.
Ah yes, that makes sense.
