Backup of Gateways not working anymore since R82 Management with CDT and cron

Hi Checkmates-Forum,

since I updated my Management Server to R82, my Backup progress for the remote gateways is not working anymore.

Here is my setup:

I have a cronjob configured on the MGMT which runs every Saturday night:

           source /opt/CPshrd-R82/tmp/.CPprofile.sh

          /opt/CPcdt/CentralDeploymentTool -rma -backupall

         #cpstop ; cpstart

I tested as well this kind of cronjob:

            source /etc/profile.d/CP.sh

           $CDTDIR/CentralDeploymentTool -rma -backupall

But unfortunately, the cron for CDT executes, but the backups are not updating in /home/admin/backups.

If I execute the CDT command ($CDTDIR/CentralDeploymentTool -rma -backupall) normally in expert mode, the backup process starts.

What I experienced as well, is that this process worked for Maestro Gateways as well (last time for me on 06.03.2025), but now it seems it is not supported anymore.

Does anyone have some experience with my issue here? Maybe I do the backups completely wrong and there are much more efficient ways to solve that?

Thankyou and Best Regards,
Fabian

Did same cron job work before the upgrade?

Yes, it did work. I did not check the backup process directly after upgrading the MGMT. As I checked later the backups, I saw that they are not up to date. So I investigated in this.

As well the Maestro Backup did work.

Thanks,
Fabian

Hm...really odd. I had one cron job in the lab before the upgrade and still worked afterwards. Not sure if there is a good way to check if something may have changed with it.

Really strange, yes. I deleted the whole cron as well, made a new one and changed the env variables, but the same. Not sure why this is not working. In the meantime, I did like two JHF upgrades and several reboots.

But is there another smooth way to automate backups and automatically transfer them to the FTP server?

I believe so, you can do automated scheduled backup from backup tab in gaia, that also works.
