Apple MacOS Rosetta 2 EOL - Identity Agent for Apple Silicon

Hello folks,

as we know, Apple will discontinue Rosetta 2 with MacOS 28 in 2027 which means, that any software which is still not ported to Apple Silicon after all these years will finally stop working:

The last update to Check Point Identy Agent was in 2022 and added support for working in a Rosetta 2 environment while still staying a Intel binary.

Can we expect that Check Point will provide an Apple Silicon version of Identity Agent for MacOS 28? Or will Check Point just declare this software as End of Life?

We did not get updates in the last four years, never got a feature parity with the Windows version, the release notes formal talk about support for MacOS only up to version 14 (while it works on 26) and Identity Agents were never listed in CP support life cycle policy, so I do not know what we can expect here:

Yes, the Mac version is definitely being neglected. I’d suggest opening a support ticket and making an official enquiry. Or, if you’re in direct contact with Checkpoint Sales or PS, you could raise the issue with them.

and now to something completely different - CCVS, CCAS, CCTE, CCCS, CCSM elite

Hi Tobias,

im also worried about this. I hope Checkpoint will fix this in the future. Im responding to this thread to keep it alive and relevant in the hope that someone from Checkpoint will notice.

Best,

francis
