vpn community routing-mode

Hi,

Can anyone explain the function and impact of the new 'Routing Mode' config in vpn communities that allowes you to toggle between Domain-Based and Route-Based VPNs?

I think its quite vague in the hepfile and documentation (IMO).

Also it seems it defaults to Domain-Based for communities that existed prior to the version upgrade where the option exists.

I've seen route based vpns that are toggled to domain-based and vice versa.

I've been on calls where people are worried that its a cause of an outage (it wasnt).

it causes a lot of confusion.

As far as I can tell it its toggled to Domain-Based the community behaves the way it used to irrespective if the VPN is using policy or routes over vti, and you only toggle to Route-based if you want to use the new easy BGP options - is that right?.
