QB-1 3600 vs. QB-1 3800

Has any one had any experience that you can share regarding restoring a backup of a QB-1 3800 to a QB-1 3600 and did it go smoothly?

Depending on the type of backup, it could be fine, or it could be a problem.

What exactly was collected? 'migrate server', 'migrate export', 'backup', 'snapshot', or something else?

What products were installed on the previous system? Just firewall, or was it also a management server?

It is just used as a VPN Gatway.

In that case, a backup is basically irrelevant. The OS-level configuration like what IP numbers are on which interface would have to be rebuilt. The rules and VPN configuration (including any shared secrets) is stored on the management server and pushed. Just be sure to take over the object for the old firewall and it should be fine.

Note one fw has 4 cores the other one 8, that could cause an issue

Limitations are here:

Would recommend to check step 3 and 4:

It's probably supported but I would take the opportunity to clean build it so that I can review all the configuration.
