What happens when Endpoint license expires?

Do blades just stop getting updates or does functionality stop altogether?

My main question is whether the VPN blade would still be usable, I'm assuming it might since VPN is reliant on the gateways Mobile Access license and not on any client licenses but I'm not sure if this is different when using the full endpoint client managed through endpoint manager?

It depends on what flavor of VPN client is installed here.

  • "Check Point Mobile" would use a MAB license
  • "Endpoint Security VPN" uses an Endpoint license

What SKUS are in question here?

Some are annual, others are perpetual.

So in this case it's CPEP-ACCESS-1Y  which is Access Control, Firewall and VPN.

So if it expires would functionality stop for all of those blades?

I believe Firewall in general does not expire.

However, VPN, being tied to the gateway would expire and not function if not renewed.

When you say tied to the gateway, are you referring to the MAB license at the gateway level and not endpoint license?

i.e. even if you have a valid MAB license but the endpoint has expired the VPN capabilities on the endpoint will be disabled?
