Installing Harmony Endpoint Complete on MacOS release 11.2.1. Best way to do it Remotely?

Hello All,

A prospective client has tried the endpoint client and cloud management on some Mac Laptops and likes it but now needs to be able to do a hands off deployment without having to ask end users to install custom kernel extensions that are  needed due to Apple's latest security requirements on this MacOS version. The version they have installed is 11.2.1 which is one away from the latest release 11.2.2 on MacOS. Has anyone else encountered this and if so were they able to avoid doing a local install without asking the enduser to install the custom kernel extensions manually? Can this be overcome and installed centrally via a script to many laptops at the same time? This is not a CP problem per se as I believe it is just due to MacOS's latest security enhancements. Any tips or pointers would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

You can use JAMF to achieve that, CP has instruction here: Endpoint Security for macOS - MDM Deployment Guide

Awesome thanks so much. I presume the same approach using any MDM deployment tool that supports MacOS would also work e.g Google Cloud , MS Intune etc?

This is the only MDM CP has instructions for - JAMF is also used in my company 😎. But if these other MDMs have the same functionality they could also work . I would be glad if you report your insights here.

If I have any more insights I will be pleased to share them. This video (the same as on the one on the corporate site) says the endpoint supports multiple differnt MDM platforms so I suspect it would work and the Mac packaging using JAMF composer (part of JAMF Pro) seems to be the key piece here for ease of delivery and then the MDM is just the delivery vehicle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsizuKG9JrI

Hello,

One other small update. The local CP Account team tell me that the latest SBA version for Mac laptops does not yet support the latest Macs with M1 processors but that is coming sometime in Q2 2021. I thought you would like to know this. Hopefully CP will release it as fast as they can. Thanks.

Thank you - i did expect this to be late, as other companies (audio processing) also have troubles supporting M1.
