We've had a couple of issues with newly re-built Dell Workstations running Windows 10, and E82.30, all of which have second SSD disks.
1. Endpoint will not start encryption, even after the second disk has been fully wiped, repartitioned, and re-formatted during build, and prior the Endpoint install. Workaround is to disable the second disk in the BIOS, allow encryption to start, and complete, then turn the second disk back on again. FDE policy allows disks detected after install to be encrypted.
2. We now have two encrypted disks. After delivery to customer, shortly after they report the 2nd disk is now no longer formatted, and diskpart reports it is RAW. This has happened on two workstations, all with Adata DP900 SSD 240GB disks fitted.
3. I formatted the disk again, via the GUI, and both disks are accessible once more, and I left it over night. I also upgraded Endpoint to E84.20. This morning, I see the 2nd disk is marked as decrypted for some reason.
EDIT 1: I just performed the following:
1. Disconnect disk via BIOS
2. Force upload of recovery data via 'fdecontrol'
3. Reboot, and re-enable the 2nd disk
4. Boot to OS, and use diskpart to clean the 2nd disk
5. Reboot again, boot to OS, and use GUI to partition, and format disk. After a few minutes it is now re-encrypting the disk once more, image attached.
I will now monitor the situation, and see if it remains encrypted this time.
