EndPoint E83.20 and R81.10

Team,

I need to get confirmation for something. I have a client running r80.10 on their firewalls and we are upgrading to r81.10. The have e83.20 as their Endpoint agent version.

  • Is e83.20 compatible with 81.10?
  • Can the new agent upgrade work with 80.10?
    • And if Yes, any issues to look for?

Thanks for the replies in advance!

E80.65 is lowest supported on R80.30 version, so your would 100% work with R81.10. I cant sadly open the link below, but it has to work, for sure. Honestly, I suggest you install E87.00 (newest one), its very stable.

Generally there aren't compatibility issues with newer VPN clients connecting to older gateways or older clients connecting to newer gateways.
Having said that, there may be features available in the newer clients that will require updates to the gateway to take advantage of.

Of course, R80.10 is End of Support, so if there are incompatibility issues, you'll be told to upgrade.

Thanks man! the_rock suggested e87.00 as an upgrade path.. so I'll have the client do the Agent roll out first and then we can schedule a day to do their gateway code update. Thanks for the direction!

Here is my best advice. IF you are using harmony endpoint (aka EDR solution), then please use below version:

However, IF you are using basic endpoint VPN (ONLY vpn capable, no EDR capabilities (av,ab,anti malware), then I strongly recommend E87.00

Strictly for VPN so I'll go with E87.00

Good choice. I had been using it since it came out, no issues.
