Could not install ENDPOINT VPN
Hi,
i'm trying to install the checkpoint endpoint vpn version 86.30.
I'm on windows 10 build 19044.1706. Each time i try to install the checkpoint vpn i keep getting the error "unable to write value InstallDirDevice to key to \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\vsdatant\Parameters" if i press "ignore" it will give me same error on the other keys. So the installation seems to be finished correctly but it's not. So, when i try to start checkpoint endpoint vpn, the software keeps to give me the error "connectivity with the vpn service is lost".
I tried everything in this forum , and i also tried to give mi registry key maximum privileges but yet i can't install the software.
I try to append some logs here.

Did you start installer as Admin ? Then i would suggest to ask TAC for help...
C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\Endpoint Connect\TracSrvWrapper.exe crashed 55 times since the last stats collection

Just something I would attempt...
1) Another windows machine install? Does it work?
2) Different vpn client version to see if you have same issue?
As @G_W_Albrecht suggested, check admin privileges.

You need admin privileges to install this package. Are you sure you have that?

According to the output previous instance of the product wasn't removed properly. Could you shed some light on what's been done before?
I also need the following file to suggest steps for resolution, c:\windows\system32\drivers\vsdatant.sys

The driver in the system is too old and reminds me E80_62 released almost 10 years ago. Removing it should be done under RnD's supervision as it may lead to OS loseing network. Even RnD cannot guarantee success in such cases. If reimaging the machine is not an option consider opening a support ticket.

Hi,
Sorry to join this discussion
I also experienced problems when reinstalling checkpoint
"Could not write value InstallDirDevice to key \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\vsdatant\Parameters."
This is the screenshot for sc query vsdatant.
Only show 1 stopped state for kernel driver.
Thanks
