Can't ping VM after installing VPN Checkpoint

Hello,

I need your help with an issue. I can't ping the VMware virtual machine from the host PC. I set up a bridge connection for the VM. This issue started happening after I installed VPN Checkpoint. When I uninstall VPN Checkpoint, the ping works. The ridiculous thing is that the problem happens even when I turn off VPN Checkpoint. I don't know how VPN Checkpoint interferes with the connection between the host and the VM. Please help me with this. Thank you.

What version of VMware Workstation?
What version/patch level of your client OS?
What exact VPN client (include version) was installed with which option(s) enabled?

Note if Endpoint Security VPN is chosen, a firewall is included and it likely is blocking the relevant traffic.
You will need to reinstall using Check Point Mobile, most likely.

Also, maybe run tracert when it fails to see exactly where it stops.

Make sure you are using the latest client, which on Windows is E89.
Use the Standalone downloads from here: https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk182722

If it fails after this, please provide more details about your environment, including VMware versions and OS version of your client VM.

New version not resolve the problem.

My enviroment:

VMWare Workstation Pro version 17.6.3, Guest OS - Ubuntu 24.04 (but also try Rocky Linux - not working), OS on my computer - Windows 10 Pro 22H2, but seem problem on windows 11. My colleague has seem problem. We have different versions of all. I think the problem is not in the environment.

NAT works fine, problem only in bridge modeWhen I uninstall VPN Checkpoint, the ping works. When I just install VPN client without any connections - ping not working. Physical devices in this network, such as mobile phone or another PC pings and connects without problems.

Firewalls on Ubuntu OS and Windows OS are disabled. In vmware network editor selected Bridged to my physical network (not checkpoint adapter). In VirtualBox with seem settings bridge mode works fine.

I think VPN client install client firewall on default and this firewall disable bridge communication. But i dont't understand why it lockes it only in VMWare, not VirtualBox.

I check the trac_msi.log file and find this logs. Maybe they help us to resolve the problem

When you install our Remote Access client, there are three options given:

  • Endpoint Security VPN
  • Check Point Mobile
  • SecuRemote

What option did you choose?
It is important as Endpoint Security VPN includes a firewall (the other options do not).
It shouldn't be impacting anything until you add a site, but if you chose Endpoint Security VPN, I'd try Check Point Mobile (don't use SecuRemote unless you're set up for it).

If you're using the Check Point Mobile option and you're still having issues, you'll probably need the TAC to assist.

Thanks for your reply!

Yes, i choose Endpoint Security VPN. Check Point Mobile not suitable for me (we use only Endpoint Security VPN in our organization).

I know what Endpoint Security VPN includes firewall. But I don't add any site, i just install product and firewall locked bridge and maybe something else.

I want to see what it locks and how to disable it. Also i want understand why VirtualBox bridge mode not locked.

As a troubleshooting step, I recommend trying to install Check Point Mobile and see if you see the same behavior.
Either way, this is probably going to require TAC to go much further.
