On January 23, 2024, VMware (now part of Broadcom) announced the End of Availability for NSX Network Introspection for Security (Service Insertion) with VMware NSX beyond 4.2.x.

CloudGuard Network Security integration with VMware NSX is based on the NSX service Insertion capability. Today, many Check Point customers deploy CloudGuard Network Security on NSX to protect workloads running in their NSX environments. This end of availability will impact integration between NSX and CloudGuard Network Security, as well as with all other third-party security vendors. Check Point will continue to support this integration as long as VMware continues to support Service Insertion for third-party vendors.

As before, CloudGuard Network Security integrates seamlessly with many other SDNs such as Nutanix, Cisco ACI and more. Note that the CloudGuard Network Security integration with VMware ESXi hypervisor will not be affected.

Check Point Customer Guidance

Check Point stands behind our Customers and Partners and will support them in managing through this change. To help our customers and partners understand and manage the upcoming discontinuation of 3rd party network introspection support by Broadcom VMware, we have created the document attached below.

For additional questions customers should reach out to their local Check Point Partner or Account Team to discuss options, mitigate risks, and ensure continued protection for their workloads.
