Unable to SSH into the Azure Cloudguard Checkpoint management VM
Hello,
I am new to this community. I deployed a checkpoint mgmt vm 18.20 on one of the Azure subscription via the Azure Marketplace.
https://azuremarketplace.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/apps/checkpoint.vsec?tab=PlansAndPrice
It all went fine. But I am unable to ssh into the VM via the Azure Bastion service. I have taken a note of the password which was prompted on the Azure Deployment wizard. On the azure, the username says `notused`, tried the same from bastion it did not worked. Can someone please help me understand what is the default username there ? I even tried `admin`. No luck.

Hi,
The default username is admin.
I recommend waiting about 15 minutes after deployment, as the first time wizard runs in the background and then triggers a reboot.
Test access by opening a serial console to the VM

Hi @Shay_Levin , thanks for the response. I tried the username as admin. But No luck.
Meanwhile, I noticed the password which I generated randomly consist of a pound sign £. Could this cause and issue?

@rs232 Are you using a non-english keyboard layout by any chance?

> I am using Non english keys
No, I generated strong pwd from a site. I missed to note that it contained a pound.
I have deleted the deployment and created a new one. Let me try in moment.

That's why. The default locale on the console is English, and if your keyboard layout is different, the password will look different on the console because it receives key codes and not actual symbols.
That's why it was failing on the console before

I highly doubt it though, as the VM itself is deployed in WestEU region. but anyways, all is well that ends well 😉
