What's the Best Code Hub Contribution of the Year?
As part of our First Birthday celebration, we are having an awards ceremony.
For awards, you need categories and voting!
Over the course of this week, we will share some of the categories and solicit nominations for said categories.
Find the complete list of categories here: CheckMates First Birthday Celebration!
This category is specific to contributions made to our Developers (Code Hub) space.
Specifically, which is your favorite one and why?
Instructions:
- Please post a comment with a link to your favorite post in the Developers (Code Hub) space with a brief explanation of why.
- Alternatively, you can email your favorite Code Hub post and why to checkmates@checkpoint.com.
- The favorite post should contain source code (can be CLI, API, or a library) and originate from someone other than yourself. And yes, you can recommend posts that come from Check Point (though we'll exclude any that come from R&D--sorry Tomer Sole Robert Decker).
- "Likes" and "discussion" around specific features are encouraged and will influence (but not determine) the final list, which will be posted for voting in the coming days.
Voting
Voting is now open for the above categories.
We will take your votes until 25th May 2018 @ 11:59pm Pacific Daylight Time.
A vote will enter you into a raffle for a Check Point 1490 Appliance!

Docker Container Service Objects by Joe Dillig - I especially like examples which integrate Security Management API's with 3rd party API's.
Delete Rules with a Zero Hit Count by Adam Forester - this is a combination of: a very effective operation, executed in just 2 lines of code!

https://community.checkpoint.com/thread/5623-bulk-add-network-objects - bulk adding objects
https://community.checkpoint.com/docs/DOC-2730 - delete unused objects
Both are quite good time savers.

My favorite is Python tool for exporting/importing a policy package or parts of it - if backup and migrate crash, this will save you from rebuilding the policy. Really a welcome addition, especially in times of trouble. In former versions, you had the "five files from /conf", an unsupported, now extinct procedure, but this is much more handy .

I remember the days you needed three, or really two: objects.C and rulebases.fws.
Yeah, I've been doing this a while.
