I'm happy to share that we a free live demo of the SMB gateways and the SMP management.
Can you tell me if the logging to cloud services is an unencrypted traffic on UDP 514? I only see this reference to it in 700 UI:
Yes, when using syslog servers, traffic is unencrypted. When using a Check Point Log Server, it will use SIC and encrypted traffic just like other Check Point gateways.
Now I am setting up my local lab as below
Windows server 2012r2 64bit as domain controller and DNS server
A record : papaya.cpsmp.com, cpsmp.com, managed-domain1.cpsmp.com, managed-domain2.cpsmp.com, managed-domain3.cpsmp.com, mapped to 192.168.198.105
Hostname : papaya.cpsmp.com
Domain : cpsmp.com
IP address : 192.168.198.105
Software : Check Point Security Management Portal (SMP) R12.30 for Windows 2008/2012 R2 64-bit and Check Point R77.30 Security Management Server for Windows 2008/2012 R2 64-bit, from link Security Management Portal R12.30 for SMB, Branch Office and Ruggedized Appliances
Checkpoint SMB 790
Software : R77.20.90
IP address : 192.168.198.106
DNS : 192.168.198.105
My problem is cannot connect gateway to SMP server, SMP always show error 1261 as attached
Could you please help for some suggestion ?
Make sure you have valid SMP license (can be trial) and activate it in the UserCenter (Click on License). Then apply it in the SMP
