change port 10G to 1G

Hi all,

I was reviewing the datasheet for the Check Point 1900, which mentions 8 ports of 10G SFP+. Can these ports be used with 1G SFP modules? I have been looking for documentation but haven’t been able to find it yet.

I would appreciate any information you can provide.

Thanks.

Hello

by taking a look here: ihttps://www.checkpoint.com/downloads/products/quantum-spark-1900-2000-datasheet.pdf

the 10GbE ports can be used with 1GbE transceiver.

The 10GbE ports are 4 (based on the above datasheet).

Hi @simonemantovani ,

Thanks for your reply and i want to make sure.

i see "4x 10GbE/1GbE SFP+ LAN ports" so this mean, we can change the speed from 10G to 1G using SFP+ or we can used 1G using SPF? do you have experient about it?

Thanks.

Different SFP needed depending on the speed.

Only certain enterprise platforms have multi-rate SFPs refer: sk92755

I agree with @Chris_Atkinson , it depends on the transceiver.
