Reach My Device – A Native Option for Secure Remote Access to Quantum Spark Appliances

Today, during a customer session, I realized they weren't familiar with the Reach My Device feature. It reminded me that, although I had read about it before, I had never actually considered using it in a real deployment.

For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, the official documentation describes it as:

"This feature lets you connect remotely to the appliance from the Internet through a dedicated Check Point cloud service."

I immediately thought about how useful this can be, especially for DAIP (Dynamic IP) deployments where exposing management services or maintaining a VPN for administration isn't always practical.

Some scenarios where I think this feature can be valuable:

  • Remote management of branch offices.
  • DAIP or LTE/5G deployments.
  • Backup access if the primary management access becomes unavailable.

One important security recommendation is to configure Administrative Access properly. Even though Reach My Device provides secure connectivity Web or CLI through the Check Point cloud service, restricting which administrators are allowed to access the gateway remains an essential best practice.

It's very simple to apply, and use

Has anyone here already used Reach My Device in production?

I'd be interested to hear about your experience and any best practices you've adopted.

Great article!

"Reach My Device" is such a practical and often underrated feature on Quantum Spark appliances, especially for dynamic IP (DAIP) setups and remote branch management.

Thanks for sharing these insights and reminding everyone about restricting admin access as a best practice. Excellent write-up!
