Can I do anything with the log data on my 750 other than generate the canned reports?

I am saving data onto an SD card and there's quite a bit. Currently I can only access the standard hourly | daily | weekly | monthly standard reports which I find limiting. What options do I have? I'm running 77.20.60. Thanks for any suggestions.

You can search through the security logs via the web interface, but I'm afraid there aren't any customization options in the reports.

What sort of information are you looking for?

Hi Dameon, Ideally looking for custom historical dates, there are iterations of months of log data but only option is 'current' month.

Perhaps the solution is to export the log data and use a different tool (can I get it into another SMS and use LogViewer?). Pity, since clearly the software can query the data and generate reports on box. I know it's got limited resources but it's tantalizingly close

For external management/log server, you would need to get a 1400 series appliance instead (700s only support local management).

In terms of getting historical reports, I'm not aware of a way to go back farther than current month.

You'd have to have adequate SD card space to achieve that.

I'm also not aware of a way to export the log data either.

Both of these things would have to be considered for later releases.

Hi. I know that only the 1400 series can be managed (I mean, configured) by SMS but the 700 series can send its logs to it (SMS). If there is not an SMS available it is possible to send the files to a syslog server. At least it is what I can see in a lab box (running version R77.20.51) I have with me (see the picture attached). The only question is if this 700 box will count in the SMS license.700 Series External Log configuration window.

If you have a SMS there is a way to get the logs into it and be able to use SmartLog, Tracker or LogExporter on it: See SMB security log files
