HDDs for a test Smart-1 3050
I think I scored on ebay. I have a 3050 on its way to my house for my personal lab. But, no HDDs. I know why they did that whomever surplused it. But kind of need them.
The part is Check Point CPAC-HDD-2TB-SM225/3050/3150 2TB. I have not had one in my hands in 5 years, so I don't remember if they had a daughter card. I think I can use a generic Dell SAS SATA hot swappable tray/caddy. Then populate 2 slots with WD Enterprise drives (WD Gold 1TB Enterprise Class Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM Class SATA 6Gb/s 128MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD1005FBYZ).
Does anyone have a caddy and drive sitting around to take a picture of or tried this?
Oh, shipping was ridiculous at $130, but with tax, it was still under $500. 🙂

The 3050 was a Lanner box, not a Dell box. Dell drive rails might fit, but might not.
I would probably just insert an SSD or two and tape them down. 1 TB SSDs are like $80, so I don't see a good reason to ever use spinning drives in a personal lab box.
