The trouble with VC

Hi,

Is anyone else seeing issues with flaky VC calls (Teams / Zoom etc)?

Our users are complaining that connecting to a VC service is worse in the office than at home.

We currently have a 200mb leased line (still trying to get a 1gb in place, but lockdown messed that up).

Users also say if they connect on our guest wifi (running on a 6mb wimax connection) it is better than the corp LAN.

 

So is the CP FW (R80.30) getting in the middle and stuffing up traffic?

Any thoughts?

You should be able to view enhanced network statistics in the Zoom client:

is the cause of the degradation:

  • Packet Loss
  • Persistently high latency
  • Highly variable latency (jitter)

Or some combo?  That will influence where to start looking.
