Good day Mates
I work for a Telcom Company, we have been providng VoLTE services for quiet some time with IPv4 and we have not had any issues so far for both Android and Iphones. Due to current demands, we are currently implementing the VoLTE service using IPv6. This service currently is provided through a Check Point firewall, and we have configured IPv6 in the firewall in order to support the service.
With IPv6, everything seems to be working fine for Android devices, but Iphones are not able to use the service with IPv6. After further investigation, we found out that Android uses SIP TCP and Iphones use SIP UDP. After engaging with Check Point, we found out that IPv6 SIP for UDP is currently not supported.
I would like to know whether any of you have encountered such issue before and how you managed to overcome it. According to feedback we received from Check Point, the roadmap to support IPv6 SIP for UDP is not a priority for now as they do not have many customers asking for it.
Thanks in advance.
