Load balance method of LACP

Hi Guys,

Want to know what load balance method is used by checkpoint in LACP & also let me know if we can change this.

As cisco switch supports below methods:

port-channel load-balance {dst-ip | dst-mac | src-dst-ip | src-dst-mac | src-ip | src-mac}

Actually, We need to configure the same method on both the side. Thanks !!

You can select the Transmit Hash Policy - the algorithm for slave interface selection according to the specified TCP/IP Layer. Select either Layer 2 (uses XOR of the physical interface MAC address), or Layer 3+4 (uses IP addresses and Ports).

Hi,

you may try e.g. for using l3
on cisco:
port-channel load-balance src-dst-ip

and on cp
bonding mode bond0 IEEE802.3ad
set bonding group 0 xmit-hash-policy layer3+4

@Mates: correct me if i am wrong, not yet really awake 😄

I have a cisco switch which only supports src-dst-mac for load balancing.. What need to be set on the checkpoint side ?

As I know xmit-hash-policy will only be applied on XOR operation. Right ?
