How to upgrade Checkpoint Identity collector from one version to another.

Hi All,

How to upgrade Checkpoint Identity collector from one version to another.

Like i'm using Windows 2019 server with Identity collector 80.135.0000 build i need to upgrade it to 81.018.0000.

Do i need to reinstall again and configure? or is there any way to do it.

Please suggest/help.

Best is a fresh install - re-doing the config also is not a bad idea! In order to clear all the collector information from the machine, un-install it and once it is cleared please verify if you have any files in the following folder and remove them as well: C:\ProgramData\CheckPoint\identity collector. In addition, check the registry folder and see if you have anything under:
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Wow6432Node -> CheckPoint -> IA" and remove all related to identity collector.

To avoid creating a new configuration, thereby giving a chance for introducing new errors, in very large deployments only uninstall / reinstall is performed.

I disagree. You can install over the previous version without any issue. If required, export/import of the config could be a fail-safe.

You can just run the installer file and it upgraded itself. The configurations retain when I do it this way.
