How do I get the GAIA API to work with VSX?
It works for me on a gateway, but, not on VSX.
Hi @C_M,
This is normal because some settings are set via SmartConsole:
- Interfaces
- Routes
- CoreXL
If you need to make changes in the clish, you can switch off VSX for a short time. For example creating bond interfaces.
clish> set vsx off
>>> your changes via clish or GAIA WebGUI <<<
clish> set vsx on
Are you saying that VSX has to be turned off to run GAIA API commands?
What about show commands? How do you get those to work in VSX via the GAIA API?
If you want to make changes on per VS basis, it is not supported.
What about show commands?
In VSX mode, API is disabled and could not be turned on.
Hi,
Some of the APIs are agnostics to the VSX/GW and should function in both.
As mentioned here, changing interface and routes are not supported as they are centrally manged by the MGMT.
If there is a specific API that I didn't mentioned above share.
In addition, I would like to take advantage of this discussion and understand how you expected to use a VS context, can you please share your view?
Thanks,
Tal Martsiano
I'd like to be able to add routes and vlans via the api.
Also, would like to run diagnostic checks, such as CPU, memory, connections, etc. via the api.
Thanks for the answer.
Indeed routes and interfaces is something we cannot tune at the moment via GAIA API as both are centrally managed by the Management Server.
Regarding the statistics your mentioned (CPU, Memory, Connection) - unfortunately, we don't have it per VS.
Would you expect to have it by querying each VS or query the box once and get a response per VS ?
